Experis are currently recruiting a Statistician for a Central Government Department for a Statistical Professional to either lead or co-lead on a number of current projects.
- Business Critical UK Official Development Assistance (ODA) reporting through high quality UK aid spend statistics for publication that meet National Statistics status, users' needs and international reporting requirements.
- Managing the release of the spend statistics effectively, including pre-release access, the briefing and stakeholder engagement (e.g. with Communications team and Other Government Departments).
- Developing improvements to UK aid spend statistics - implementing changes consistent with methodology reviews and National Statistics requirements.
- Contributing to wider aid delivery objectives across the department, where there is a need for use of ODA data.
Essential
- A 2:2 degree in a numerate discipline such as mathematics, economics, psychology or geography. Your degree should contain some formal statistical training.
- Significant experience of delivering business critical statistics.
- Wide ranging analytical skills and experience of undertaking high profile, strategic analysis
- Experience of working with and drawing conclusions from large and complex datasets.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of people from different professional disciplines
- Exceptional verbal and written presentation skills
- Confident user of Excel and other Microsoft packages
- To be skilled at engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Significant experience in a statistics related field.
- Qualified to be, or already are members of the following analytical professions at level 3: GSS, GES, GSR or GORS.
Desirable
- Some database management experience
- A working Knowledge of the standards for Government Statistics
- Current or previous membership of the membership of the Government Statistical Service.
