We are now looking for an exceptional Solutions Architect with a broad Infrastructure background who can set us apart from our peers and build the saliency of the brand. In this role you will be responsible for solution design across platforms, network, and end user compute technology domains, determining the current and future principals, policies and standards for each technology domain, driving initial requirements gathering, as well as the creating high level designs for infrastructure projects.
You will provide input to the technical direction of the group, working with enterprise architects, and specialist solution designers. This will be a challenging but varied role that will require you to use your tenacity, technical expertise as well as flexible in the ways of working.
Core Responsibilities
* The role is highly customer focused and requires excellent technical and communication skills when delivering architect solutions around the Microsoft infrastructure stack.
* Comfortable working with legacy and ageing platforms right through to bleeding edge technology.
* Plan and manage the different phases of design work, requirements gathering, high level design, low level design, technical design reviews, post implementation reviews.
* Ability to design security policies, define principles, security controls and measures and design to prevent security threats, mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities
* Work closely with Enterprise Architects, other Solutions Architect, Operations, and Suppliers, to define the present and future for the:
* Microsoft Platform Stack
* Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365 technologies
* VMwareVirtualisation
* Network connectivity
* Security Controls and Standards
* Integration across multi-tiered applications Key Skills And Competencies Required
* A technologist at heart with a proven track record, able to challenge thinking and drive projects to completion
* Broad experience in technical roles working with platforms technologies (virtualisation, servers, storage)
* Demonstrate extensive awareness of both on-premises and cloud-based workspace architectures
* Ability to work independently and prioritise duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
* Ability to influence and work with key stakeholders to deliver the solution affectively and within business scope
* Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task over multiple projects and demands.
* Willing to get hands dirty when needed, bring a level of initiative and innovation in your day job, comfortable working outside of your comfort zone, up for a challenge and deliver results.
* Experience of transforming / re-architecting legacy applications for cloud platforms and hybrid deployments
