Workshop Administration Team Leader

£27,000 to £28,000 dependant on experience

I am recruiting a Workshop Administration Team Leader to work for FTSE 250 Engineering Organisation who manage the London Fire Brigade's (LFB) vehicle fleet. LFB is the UK's largest fire and rescue service and this company manage and improve availability of its fleet of 500 vehicles and 50,000 pieces of specialist equipment across Greater London.

The purpose of the role is to lead the Workshop Admin Team to ensure that all administration tasks are processed in a timely manner and within target completion times as set by the Workshop Manager.


  • Provide effective Leadership of the Workshop Admin Team. Building an effective team with clear targets and objectives to deliver against KPI's and set targets for the department and the wider contract.
  • Ensure that all vehicle maintenance paperwork is completed to the correct standard and that all paperwork is present at time of completion and filed in the correct place at all times.
  • Carry out first line people management duties. Take ownership for your team's time, Absence and performance management and escalate to Workshop Manager as required.
  • Work closely with other department Leaders to promote a culture of working together across all departments.
  • Organise external suppliers to complete tasks such as, but not limited to, Low Emission Zone (LEZ) tests, MOT bookings and Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) testing as and when required and in line with scheduled events and fleet requirements.
  • Control external contractor repairs and Preferred Service Providers repairs and costs.


  • Administration within a Workshop/Vehicle Fleet Maintenance environment is highly desirable
