Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Wintel and Cloud

Swansea or Swindon

Salary range: £49,835 - £60,649 depending on skills and experience

The role may attract a DigiTec allowance of up to £15k depending on skills and experience.

Join the DVLA as a Wintel and Cloud Lead Infrastructure Engineer, and you'll build world class digital services within Microsoft Azure. This will be part of an exciting transformation programme that's migrating legacy technology onto new cloud-based platforms.

You'll lead in the technical implementation of small and medium infrastructure change - including building and designing components, platforms and tools. You'll analyse and resolve service delivery issues; and you'll monitor and continually improve technology performance. You'll take ownership for obtaining the information required to diagnose and resolve complex problems. And you'll also contribute to large infrastructure change and technical designs - including identifying risks.

We're looking for a Wintel and Cloud Lead Instructure Engineer who can work with minimal supervision; deliver value for money and a quality service at pace; and possesses experience in the following:

  • Linux and Microsoft Server OS
  • VMware
  • Automation tooling (e.g. Microsoft SCCM, Azure Automation, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins, Cloud Formation, Terraform or similar solutions)
  • Deploying and managing Cloud platforms (e.g. Azure and AWS)
  • Server virtualisation
  • Deploying and configuring servers using Powershell.
