Accessibility Test Engineer

Job Description:

  1. Develop accessible test solutions across the platform
  2. Assess and provide compliance report for the applications tested.
  3. Analyze applications for Accessibility issues and provide developers and designers with workable solutions
  4. Work with diverse team of product owners, UX designers, and developers in a fast paced and complex environment, with quick iterative cycles
  5. Analyze future designs and provide feedback to Product Owners and others to ensure Developers build accessible designs and specs on new features.
  6. Should have work experience on various platforms; Web, iOS and Android, office suits, PDFs.

Experienced in:

  • Passion for making websites and applications accessible to all users
  • 8+ years of professional work experience in a software development organization
  • 8+ years of experience in accessible (WCAG) testing, analysis, and teaching
  • Deep, demonstrable Subject Matter Expertise in WCAG 2.0, Section 508, ADA, other accessibility laws and standards
  • Experience using Accessibility assistive tools AND screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA and Voiceover, dragon naturally speaking.
  • Experience in automated accessibility tools and accessibility APIs.
  • Knowledge of and ability to discuss ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) solutions
  • Knowledge of and ability to discuss HTML5, CSS, JavaScript solutions.
  • Should have experience in providing remediation for the accessibility issues.
  • Should have worked with the differently abled users.
  • Solid knowledge of accessibility testing methodologies
  • Primary skills on following tools: JAWS v2018, Dragon v15.3, Zoom Text (v11.6 and v2018), Claro Screen ruler and Reader, RSI Guard Stretch, NGT Lite, Cirque Touchpad Driver, PC Link, Olympus dictaphone and Read & Write Gold v11.0.3
  • Must be self-motivated, action-oriented, and highly effective in verbal and written communications
  • Ability to operate independently and with little supervision
  • Work with designers, developers, and testers to create accessible working prototypes, tools, websites,
  • Knowledge of and experience with how people with a variety of disabilities use assistive technologies (e.g., screen reader, screen magnifier, keyboard-only access)
  • Ability to analyse the impact of a barrier to accessibility (e.g., frequency, severity, affected user group) and assist product owners in prioritizing issues
  • Awareness of current trends in digital accessibility, universal design, policy, and best practices
  • Ability to use your expertise to guide others' work and establish standards and expectations
  • Able to produce results independently as well as collaboratively in a team
  • Reporting bugs identified during testing and preparing audit reports.
  • Researching about accessibility solutions across technologies on a project requirement basis.
  • Adhering to quality standards.
