The role.

We are looking for someone to join our team of Watchkeepers in North West Scotland. The site carries out submarine, weapon and underwater vehicle trials for the UK Ministry of Defence and commercial customers.

You will be working in a small team, the Watchkeeper is responsible for maintaining a radar and visual watch of the range area in the Inner Sound and operates the radars, radios and computer equipment. In addition the Watchkeeper is responsible for the security and cleanliness of the building.

You will be required to work on a rotating shift pattern of one week on followed by one week off. Throughout the year, you will work an average of 42 hours per week including meal breaks.

The successful candidate will have a high level of self-reliance and a mature attitude when communicating with seagoing/helicopter traffic. Experience of marine radars and radios would be a distinct advantage as would a seafaring background. PC skills are a significant part of the job and the candidates should be able to demonstrate PC literacy.

Key Accountabilities.

You will work separate shift patterns working throughout a 24 hour period.

You will operate radars and radios.

You will be providing visual/Radar surveillance of sea area.

You need experience in the seafaring environment.

You need PC literacy, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel
