* Take responsibility for translating and driving through findings from users into design concepts, prototypes and production assets
* Work closely with development teams to ensure design is implemented faithfully and with due intent
* Work autonomously as required to take responsibility for proactively identifying and resolving any issues arising
* Deliver designs that meet web standards, ensuring that key elements are built in from the outset
* Contributing to the development and continual enhancement of the product
* Partnering with colleagues to facilitate a consistent user experience.
* Facilitating User Research (including observing and providing recommendations) and subsequently iterating design based on research outcomes

The ONS currently requires more than 300,000 businesses a year to provide responses to mandatory surveys. These are currently done on paper. ONS also conducts nearly half a million face to face surveys of households. There is a need to deliver a digital alternative. In addition, the next Census in 2021 is targeting 80% completion via online methods. In order to support the move to digital, ONS are developing an Electronic Questionnaire (eQ) capability.

The eQ project is delivering a flexible online questionnaire system which will drive the collection of data which feeds into the official statistics the ONS produces. This is an opportunity to be part of one of the leading examples of digital development within government.

The eQ is being developed by a small multi-disciplinary team, with the expectation that research, development and innovation form part of the daily work. The system is being developed in the open (on GitHub) and hosted on public cloud providers, with a focus on users needs, utilising modern technologies and techniques (continuous integration and delivery) around open source solutions with strong communities.
