UX Designer

Bedfont Lakes, Feltham

12 months

The business' digital marketing organization will lead the next evolution in customer experience through promotion of our products and software through digital channels (web, social, media, mobile, direct mail, point of sale, etc.). This team will enable marketing to analyse marketing campaigns by audience and understand what is working and what isn't - typically in real time.

This is a new position created at a regional level to ensure the User Experience is at the forefront of all new journeys and experiences created across all our web country sites in EMEAR.

The UX Designer's primary objective is to create engaging and relevant user journeys by persona by utilising their design, analytical and psychology skills to inform, design and content decisions on our website.

  • Map out generic and personalised user journeys based on strategy, content and persona attributes and behaviours
  • Conduct user research (e.g. onsite surveys, customer interviews, internal interviews, usability testing platforms) to understand the key care-abouts of the users of the website, by persona.
  • Gain a deep understanding of how users interact with our pages, and where the issues and opportunities are for optimisation
  • Analyse all available quant & qual data using tools (web analytics, heat maps, session recordings, path analysis etc.) to understand blockers in the journeys and suggest improvements.
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
  • Feed test ideation through User Research and own heuristic analysis. Create wireframes and prototypes for larger test ideas
  • Provide EMEAR input into the global teams and processes to enable UX best practices to be rolled out at scale.
  • Understand our value proposition and incorporate USP's at optimal points throughout the journey
  • Be willing to help teammates, share knowledge and experience with them, and learn from them.

  • Proven experience as a UX designer, UI Designer, or similar role in a matrix organisation
  • Strong project Management and User Research experience
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Proficient in design software (preferably Axure)
  • Problem solving aptitude, and the ability to quickly establish requirements by asking the right questions
  • Analytical mind with business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management - the ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to internal teams

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working in global matrix organization
  • Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus
  • Experience of running lab-based user research sessions and associated tools
  • An advanced understanding of Information Architecture

Suitable candidates should submit their CV in the first instance.
