UX / Creative Designer
Location: Central London (frequent travel to Ipswich)
Duration: 4 months

Role Summary

Our client are looking for an experience Designer to produce excellent design/creative work that is user centred to enhance the overall user experience focused and compliant with all accessibility guidelines and usability issues

  • To ensure the visual tone, appearance and functionality and overall aesthetic of the designs generated fits in with the overall global brand
  • To work effectively within the development and design team contributing to the spirit, character and work quality as well as communicating clearly and professionally with other departments.
  • Delivering the UX design components of an overall B2B solution design
  • Working with the Business Analysis community to support fully understanding business requirements and ensure these fully account for the UX perspective
  • Working with the UX Function to develop a detailed understanding of brand and associated guidelines and ensuring AS solutions are both compliant with and fully leverage the corporate brand
  • Working with the Development function to support prototype and full end solution delivery
  • Designing for multi-platform delivery - primarily mobile, tablet and desktop
  • Working with the UX and BA Functions to help ensure designs are usable and accessible as much as possible
  • An awareness of technology trends within and outside of the organisation. To include:
  • Working with defined UX best practices and principles to deliver industry-leading technology solutions

Essential:

  • Outstanding design portfolio with 8 -10 years proven track record of your best design work
  • Excellent working knowledge and fluency with industry standard software, (Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure, XD and MS Office software)
  • Flair for colour theory and understanding of palette choices, a comprehensive knowledge of typography/fonts
  • Excellent creative thinker with ability to articulate creative ideas, and exceed the brief including creating quick scamps, storyboards and concepts
  • Keen eye for detail with good understanding of how to make the interface clearer for the customer
  • Strong working knowledge of CSS responsive layout grids
  • A good working knowledge of Adobe Animate, After Effects to simulate UI animations
  • Ability to produce high quality detailed design specifications for local and remote development teams
  • An understanding for 'iterative design' and 'just-in-time' principles for the developers
  • BA (Hons) or BSc degree qualified - Product Design with Human Factors would be advantageous.
  • Onsite-offshore working experience in past

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a financial services organisation, preferably with exposure to the insurance industry/insurance broking.
  • Experience engaging and influencing internal development teams
  • Exposure to Microsoft VSTS (or similar) in relation to management of requirements, project delivery, development and quality assurance
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, specifically WCAG 2.0 and knowledge of legal accessibility obligations in the UK and internationally
