UI Integration/Oracle Systems Developer

Responsible for the development and maintenance of existing Pensions Administration System as well as building and maintaining workflows using a propriety toolset and Oracle PL/SQL procedural language. Apply your skills as a member of a focused, technically competent Development team that prides themselves on excellence. This position requires a passion for technical design, development, problem solving, and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.

The role involves:-

  • Building a comprehensive understanding of applications, systems and infrastructure across the TAS LOB.
  • Communication with key stakeholders and development teams on technical solutions.
  • Perform application and systems development duties using technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL., Shell Scripting under AIX
  • Provide level 3 technical support on Oracle, UNIX and application issues.
  • The successful candidate will have considerable experience in Unix and Oracle PL/SQL and Web Technology - HTML 5, JavaScript, and JQuery and will have a background in software development. The candidate must have sound understanding of the whole stack from operating systems, databases, web servers, configuration management and software development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or at least 5+ years' experience in a senior technical developer role
  • Is a recognized expert in their area of expertise
  • Understands and can speak to all aspects of the software development lifecycle (e.g. requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing, documentation and associated methods (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, Iterative Development, etc.)
  • Technical and troubleshooting experience, including the ability to work under pressure and "think outside the box", diagnose log files, simulate problems, etc.
  • Participates in the evolution of company level best practices, standards, and policies as it relates to software development
  • Strong Unix/Linux and Unix Shell Scripting
  • Oracle Database experience
  • Oracle RDBMS, SQL*Plus and strong PL/SQL
  • Language Knowledge - HTML, JavaScript, JQuery
