Treasury Assistant

£20,000 - £22,000, Bournemouth - BH23

We are looking to hire a Treasury Assistant to work as part of a Tax & Cash finance team for a FTSE100 engineering and support services business based in Bournemouth - BH23

The organisation is the UKs leading provider of engineering support services to the MoD and Armed Forces. The central finance team work from the regional head office of the Defence & Security Division in Bournemouth and the Treasury Assistant will Report to the Tax & Cash Manager, undertaking the transactional processing services related to Treasury processes.

What you'll be doing

  • Recording and posting bank transactions
  • Bank and petty cash reconciliations
  • Direct Debit/Standing Order requests
  • Issue payments via online funds transfer or cheques
  • Maintaining bank mandates
  • Processing BACS and advance payments
  • Satisfying reporting requirements in respect to Treasury
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the service
  • Reporting on Treasury operations including any issues faced in satisfying the customer demands

What skills and experience you'll need to show?

  • Experience of electronic banking systems and bank reconciliations
  • An understanding and experience of working within a treasury function
  • Ability to present and explain data clearly & concisely
  • Ability to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved or surpassed
  • Strong IT skills, particularly MS Office programmes and good Excel skills
  • The ability to obtain MoD security clearance
