Training & Competence Supervisor

Crewe and Bristol - Travel between 2 sites

3-6 months initial contract

Purpose:

  • The role is integral to delivering this growth through developing, implementing, maintaining and managing the Advice business Training & Competence Scheme
  • It will also require implementation of robust oversight of the firm's advisers
  • To provide assurance that there are effective controls around adviser competence that will ensure the right customer outcomes are met

Dimensions, responsibilities and outputs:

The jobholder:

  • Member of the Compliance & Risk Team
  • Reports to the Head of Training & Competence
  • Responsible for T&C oversight of advisers of all experience levels
  • Works closely with all members of the regional executive, adviser population and operational management

  • Is responsible for:
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with the business
  • Own and manage the Training & Competence scheme for your region or area
  • Provide effective regulatory and compliance oversight
  • Deliver induction
  • Ensure CPD arrangements are delivered
  • Ensuring that all advisers are risk rated and have appropriate and up to date action and development plans in place
  • Ensuring statements of Professional Standing are maintained
  • Reporting appropriate MI and analysing for trends to ensure the right level of oversight and to identify further training requirements
  • Is a key input into the formulation and delivery of the strategic direction of the training and competence within the business
  • Is responsible for guiding and directing advisers whilst working in partnership with Sales Managers

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Holds the Diploma in Financial Planning
  • Significant experience of working in a training and competence role
  • Significant proven track record of experience in delivery the requirements of a Training & Competence Scheme
  • Experience of influencing, managing and coaching colleagues who are not direct reports and who may be more senior
  • Appreciation of the concept of value and what drives value within businesses

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework as it impacts a retail advisory business
  • Detailed knowledge of COBs and Training & Competence requirements as they affect regulated advice
  • Understanding of the advisory sector and an established network of relationships
