Our Central Government client based in London are recruiting for a highly experienced Test Manager.

The Role

The Test Manager assures the quality of the delivered project outputs and programme outcomes. They will eventually lead a team to improve product quality by implementing structured testing processes and tools across the Programme against all solutions. This will include identifying and helping to articulate the quality standards to be met, establishing structure and methodical processes and tools to develop test scenarios, building models and test data, and developing testing approaches and plans. They will work with the Project Managers to identify appropriate testing for their delivered solutions (processes, technologies, people, etc), help develop their individual test plans, defining the test cases, defect management, reporting, and ultimately sign-off.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Programme Quality Assurance lead, including representing programme quality assurance at senior stakeholder meetings
  • Define and obtain approval for testing strategy to include standards to be met.
  • Ensure visibility, traceability and control of the testing process
  • Quantify the testing requirements of each project within the programme, including resource planning and management.
  • Develop the test plan for the tasks; dependencies and participants required to mitigate the risks to system quality; and obtain stakeholder support for test plans.
  • Oversee development of test use cases, test data, and scenario planning.
  • Deploy and manage test resources to initiate and manage the test plans
  • Ensure content and structure of all testing documents / artefacts is documented and maintained, and shared with key stakeholders
  • Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes for testing as per agreed standards.
  • Check/review the test case documents
  • Track and prepare the report of testing activities, testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status, performance baselines etc.
  • Manage defects uncovered through to successful resolution
  • Ensure timely delivery of testing milestones
  • Obtain sign-off on the testing phases throughout the projects' lifecycle.
