Role Overview:

  • As a Triage Test Engineer, you will play a key role in an activity that will, from a quality and assurance view, support delivery of new products, additional post launch software features, and in-life software for Home Communications products. You should possess a can-do attitude and have the desire to deliver high quality exciting consumer products that are delivered into a very dynamic market sector.
  • You will also have the opportunity to work closely with developers, triage teams, and automation teams, to continually improve the overall QA and test team function.
  • You will work with multiple stakeholders, and enjoy an exciting working environment where personal development is a key value of the team.
  • The ultimate aim is to play a key role in a World-class software test team specifically quality assuring the software for, and ensuring the delivery of, network-enabled products that are always on the cutting edge of technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain and execute test cases
  • Raise, track and drive defects to resolution
  • Document new test processes
  • Provide timely status reports to the Test Lead
  • Support the analysis of issues and defects raised through customer and trial channels
  • Escalate, where necessary, testing and technical issues
  • Contribute to the identification, development and rollout of improved test and quality practices
  • Contribute to the specification and selection for any necessary tools required for enabling quality testing outcomes

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience in testing of In-Home consumer products
  • Internet protocol knowledge in the following areas
  • Transport layer TCP, UDP
  • Internet layer IPv4 IPv6
  • Application layer - DHCPv4, DHCPv6
  • Experience in testing Wi-Fi devices with knowledge of 802.11 and security protocols
  • Use of Network debug applications such as Wireshark/ TCPdump
  • Understanding of the software and test development lifecycle
  • Experience in working within an Agile environment.
