We are actively looking to secure a Test Defect Manager to join Experis as one of our expert consultants, delivering services to our clients.

The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Test Defect Manger to support the key pillars of there external testing service - covering trader dress rehearsal, trade test proving, automation and post implementation proving. As a Test Defect Manager, you will be working closely with the C&IT Triage team to identify and accept defects into the defect management process.

Responsibilities of a Test Defect Manager:

  • To facilitate and Chair daily PRFs
  • To ensure timely updates to all defect (JIRA) tickets
  • To manage the defect lifecycle - from identification through analysis, fix, testing and deployment, including governance (RFCs etc)
  • Oversight of Known Error Log (KEL) with regard to updates as defects progress and capturing externally-facing description of newly identified defects
  • Coordination of comms out to software houses relating to specific defects to as agreed by Command Centre and SDST

Measures

  • Defect statistics as recorded in daily JIRA ticket summary

Scope

  • All historic Trade Test JIRA tickets that are not closed as part of the current mass closure exercise.
  • After initial triage all newly recognised bugs and defects in Trade Test

Inputs

  • JIRA tickets that are raised by SDST
  • JIRA tickets raised as a result of internal monitoring
  • Updates from technical teams

Outputs

  • Defect/PRF spreadsheet that is updated daily - to include impacts / scenario description for externally-facing KEL
  • Weekly reporting on the status of all defects
  • Draft comms regarding specific defects for SDST delivery to Developers
  • RFC documentation

Meetings

  • Daily PRF (Chair)
  • Daily Command Centre Trade Test calls (Contributor)
  • Test Meetings (Contributor)
  • CAB (Facilitator) Once RFC and CAB process is in use for Trade Test

What do we want from you?

  • PM skills with and knowledge of requirements capture methods and techniques, business systems and analysis, front end process, software development life cycles and associated processes
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, JIRA and Confluence
  • Excellent analytical capability within a technical environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good team player and ability to work/explain technical issues to non-technical person.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills especially in Excel.
  • Quick learner and able to understand current business process and data.
