The Role is a 6 month contract based in Stevenage, paying between £300-£350 per day.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Creates test cases and identifies test data in response to clearly defined requirements. Includes the creation of test cases in areas of technical testing specialism.
    * Executes test cases and records test results in accordance with established test plan(s). Includes the execution of test cases in areas of technical testing specialism.
    * Test results checking and reporting.
    * Test Incident (Defect) logging, investigation and support.
    * Collects testing related measurements and metrics.
    * Organizes test materials, environments, tools and resources required to deliver the planned testing activities and co-ordinates the delivery of testing against the schedule, reporting test progress, risks and test incidents and collecting test measurements and metrics.
    * Creates high quality test plan documents on small to medium projects or discrete pieces of work that address the requirements and mitigate the risks of the solution under test.
    * Accountable for the deliverables of the test team for a small project to agreed schedule.
    * Understands the requirements for testing within the project and agrees testing scope with stakeholders.

Job Description

A Test Analysts is required to assist testing of the Managed Information Service elements being delivered. The project will deliver an Enterprise Service Management (ESM) and Managed Information Service (MIS) to the customer. The MIS will incorporate both Remedy® and Service Now® toolsets into the existing network.

Based in the UK with the possibility of travel to Saudi Arabia, the Test Analysts will report to the Test Manager and will be part of the transition and delivery phases. They will work as part of the project delivery team throughout the development of the MIS and ESM solution for the client. The Test Analysts will be required to quickly understand the scope to meet the very short deadlines dictated by the project in order to meet the client's requirements. The Saudi Arabian working week runs from Sun to Thu and so the Test Analysts will be required to be flexible and able to work to the Saudi routine and be willing to travel to the Kingdom if required.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Produces accurate test cases that address clearly defined requirements.
    * Produces test cases with an appropriate level of technical detail for the target audience responsible for test execution.
    * Good familiarity with testing tools.
    * Uses risk to identify where more or less testing is required based on testing outcomes.
    * Produces clear and unambiguous test plans that address project requirements and risks and contribute to test strategy.
    * Effectively communicates the testing strategy and plans throughout the project & customer teams.
    * Successfully delivers all testing activities in the test plans within forecast and timescale constraints.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Excellent working knowledge and experience of interpreting test strategies and processes to meet contractual requirements.
    * Experience with ESM/MIS toolsets including element management of BMC Remedy and ServiceNow
    * Good working knowledge of ESXi, Redhat OS and MySQL
    * Good working knowledge of DC LAN network toplologies
    * Systems and Software Engineering background including all aspects of the solution lifecycle
    * Experience in developing solutions focussed on information/data exchange.
    * Good knowledge of Service Management design principles and best practice
    * Confident and comfortable in performing solution demonstrations and attending meetings with customer stakeholders
    * Unit Testing of own work using appropriate tools and technologies
    * Innovative personality and creative problem solver
    * Keeps up to date with software development technology trends and is able to apply and promote their relevance to solutions, the team and customers strategies.
    * Excellent communications skills, written and verbal.
    * The candidate must hold a minimum of SC clearance or have the ability to obtain a minimum of SC Clearance
    * Ability to work in a flexible manner in order to assist in meeting project/programme objectives.

Desirable Skills:

  • Able to travel to Saudi Arabia for short periods if required throughout the test phase.
    * Knowledge and experience working to a MoD customer.
    * Ability to attend meetings at various locations within UK.
