Technology Project Manager

£63,000 - £74,446 + Excellent Benefits - Central London

We have an exciting opportunity with one of our major UK clients for a Technology Project Manager. They are one of the leading government departments responsible for various areas including crime, counter-terrorism and the police.

They have one of the largest IT estates in the UK which is engaged with by millions of customers each year. As a result of continuous growth in their technical team they are seeking a Project Manager to join them.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading large and complex technology projects delivering products for multiple internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensuring that projects are managed effectively in line with the clients methodology by planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting on activities, risks, issues and dependencies.

  • Ensuring the quality of the solution and all other deliverables by identifying actions to resolve delivery risks and issues; supporting suppliers and delivery teams to manage the impact of changes when developing and delivering these solutions so that delivery remains on track

  • Working with other programme / portfolio / project managers as required to identify and manage dependencies and interdependencies within programmes or between related projects

  • Budget management for specific projects

Experience Required

  • Experience of working with a range of structured programme and project management methodologies, including Agile, and have experience in delivering a range of types of projects in a technical environment

  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams, leading the collaborative planning process, prioritising work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team

  • Ability to engage and work with development teams to understand the technical solution and make informed decisions

  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people
