My client are a leading life science organisation who are on the look out to grow their manufacturing space. As a Manufacturing Technology Engineer you will look after the manufacturing line, responsibilities will range from helping to identify root cause of issues, trying to understand what has gone wrong, investigating and documentation, improvement activities using Lean and 6 Sigma. Looking for someone with a mechanical engineering background, someone who has worked in a manufacturing site.

As a technology engineer you will be responsible for

  • Product and Process Improvement - Using Lean Six Sigma tools to analyse the manufacturing process and design improvements to reduce waste and unit cost through supply chain organisation from customer orders to finished goods
  • New Equipment Introduction - Working with the Project Engineering team to specify, install and commission new equipment to further improve products and processes.
  • New Product Qualification - Working with production and the development lab to manufacture a product suitable for the customer's specification.
  • Process optimisation - Using appropriate analytical tools to identify optimum process settings and set-up visual management to monitor cycle times.
  • Lean Projects - Reduce lead time in production areas by analysing the supply chain and optimising inventory levels
  • Prepare validation protocols and reports with support from experienced group members
  • Develop details working knowledge of assigned products and processes as well as awareness of products and processes within the remit of the wider MT organisation - includes pharmaceutical products and medical devices
  • Have a detailed working knowledge of the site documentation and change control systems
  • Awareness of current regulatory standards as applicable e.g. Eurdralex/Orange Guide and ISO standards for medical and sterile devices
  • Champion GMP standards and principles

Knowledge and Skills

  • Equipment qualification and process validation
  • Process optimisation technies e.g. design of experiments
  • Continuous improvement techniques including Lean Manufacturing/Siz Sigma concepts
  • Statistical sampling techniques e.g. AGLs
  • Familiarity with medical device and product product quality systems
  • Knowledge of GMP regulatory requirements
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
