Technical Services Supervisor
Salary of up to £42,665 + bonus and excellent benefits
Monday - Friday, day shifts 37.5hrs per week with some emergency call outs

Postcode - MK45 1AB and surrounding locations across the Milton Keynes area

We are looking for Technical Services Supervisors to work on a mobile basis with a number of different trades across the Milton Keynes area.

You will manage Facilities Services Delivery across multiple locations and depending on the role across either combustion, fabric and mechanical and/or mixed trade teams. You will provide high quality and cost effective service through the management and supervision of Hard FM Services teams and/or direct services. You will ensure building services maintenance and repairs across your trade or trades.

You will deliver building services maintenance and repairs within your trade or trades to ensure buildings are maintained to the highest standards and environments are safe and secure for patients, staff and visitors. You will provide a customer focused, cost effective and efficient facilities support service to the NHS.

What would you do?

You will be supporting excellent facilities management and ultimately patient care in the NHS. Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage teams, ensuring they are fully competent in addition to recruitment, performance management, training, development, employee relations and "Responsible Person/Approved Person" training within the scope of your knowledge and competency
  • You will lead and manage teams, ensuring they are fully competent and compliant with all processes, procedures and policies, and meet organisational standards including, but not limited to our Health and Safety/HTMS (Health Technical Memoranda) and SFG20
  • You will implement new standards, lead change and manage continuous improvement
  • You will audit, troubleshoot, undertake toolbox talks and lead health and safety compliance, being responsible for the supervision, health, safety, and wellbeing of the building services team
  • You will work with a range of stakeholders including customers and contractors to ensure works are delivered to organisational standards and resolve first line customer complaints
  • You will manage planned and reactive maintenance service delivery, the distribution and prioritisation of works across critical environments; maximising resources and productivity
  • You will support project and construction teams in identifying, scoping, and delivering minor capital works including managing costs and resources

What experience and skills do you need?

Experience within the NHS is not essential, but it is highly desirable. To be successful:

  • You will hold an NVQ Level 3 and/or higher BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent and hold specialist knowledge in your trade or trades acquired through experience or qualification
  • You will have a strong working knowledge of MEBF repairs and maintenance, Health & Safety, COSHH, environment standards, manual handling, working at height, confined spaces, legionella and asbestos
  • You will hold at least five years' experience working within a building's maintenance environment managing or supervising a mixed ability maintenance team and people related activities to a high standard; including performance management
  • You will be practised at prioritising buildings maintenance PPM, emergency response and direct planned works across multiple locations and working with CAFM data base systems and ensuring statutory compliance and services to SFG20
  • You will have excellent communication skills, be numerate, literate and able to work effectively with various IT systems.
