I am looking for passionate and experienced Product Owners to work within the Product Definition & Delivery team focusing on high quality mobile app products. You will own and lead one or more of my client's customer facing mobile app products and/or features working in a fast-paced, agile environment, across multiple concurrent projects. You will have close alignment with various cross-functional business teams to define the vision and direction of the products and features and drive it to achieve business objectives.

You will use your strong communication and coordination skills to engage with multiple stakeholders, internal and externals business and technical teams, supplier teams, etc. and drive them towards developing and delivering products which their customers use in their everyday life.

The challenge in the role also comes from my client's products having quite complex design & backend dependencies with cloud services and the vehicles. Your understanding of latest trends, technologies & platforms, design and architecture principles of the domain, and insatiable desire to continually grow and develop in would contribute to success of the team.

  • Product releases delivering to business and vehicle programme commitments
  • Product releases delivering to technical and quality improvements
  • Effective product requirements management (clear and prioritised backlog & acceptance criteria)
  • Driving & maintaining development teams (internal & external) aligned to product direction
  • Facilitating and supporting various project teams & activities
  • Establishing self as the go-to-contact for all product matters across business
  • Represent product as and when required within business and outside
  • Contribution to product and process improvements
  • Status reporting and communication to the rest of the business

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Own definition, development & adaptation of product vision and roadmap
  • Align product direction with business requirements & vehicle program needs
  • Own and define product's user experience
  • Elicit and translate business requirements into product requirements
  • Define & manage product requirements through product backlog
  • Product backlog prioritisation and grooming
  • Translate product requirements into User Stories with Acceptance Criteria
  • Define release plans, schedules and scope
  • Support project teams on design, development, validation & delivery of product
  • Own product release sign-offs
  • Lead, manage, align and collaborate with relevant stakeholders on product aspects
  • Drive continuous improvement process for the product and associated processes
  • Own product communication and visibility across the business
  • Incorporate inputs from customer feedback, stakeholder feedback and market research
  • May involve travel between various offices/sites in UK
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Experienced as a Product Owner shaping product vision and roadmap in mobile domain
  • Elicitation & ownership of Product requirements including User Experience for multiple features
  • Coordinating with multiple stakeholder to understand and capture business requirements
  • Translate business requirements into Product requirement for implementation
  • Envisage User Experience for the product and translate them into requirements for implementation
  • Hands-on with Agile methodologies and practices in driving & delivering incremental product releases
  • Hands-on with Behaviour Driven Development methodology
  • Ownership of product backlog grooming and feature prioritisation
  • Creation of User Stories and Acceptance Criteria for the Product requirements
  • Release planning including scope and timing
  • Driving new feature delivery through coordination across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Supporting and making Functional and Technical design recommendations
  • Analysis of product issues and shortcomings and planning for continuous Product improvement
  • Analysis of product feedback (internal & external) and looping it back for Product improvement
  • Supplier management to drive alignment on requirements, specifications and direction
  • Report Product vision, roadmap and status to management and stakeholders on regular basis
  • Single point of contact for all product queries, discussions, decisions
  • Understanding of technical architecture, design and implementation complexities of Mobile Apps
  • Understanding of mobile market, products/technologies, trends and latest developments

Desirable:

  • Agile/Scrum certifications
  • Good understanding of User Experience & UI Design principles
  • Understanding and experience of working with various SDLC methodologies
  • Understanding and/or exposure to automotive life cycle
  • Proficiency with MS Office packages
  • Experience of working with JIRA
  • Commercial awareness
  • Degree/Masters in Computer Science, Engineering or Design
