Technical Operation Manger

My client, a leading global medical device manufacture based in the West, is looking to take on a strong candidate to manage their Technical Operations group.

In this permanent position you will be reporting directly to the senior manager and lead a team of technically strong scientist with efforts to define new products, identify technical challenges in development; implement externally developed technologies that would improve internal processes; plan and supervise laboratory testing; serves as an internal expert in a specific scientific discipline by sharing information formally and maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor other scientists on new technologies and/or methodologies.
  • Technical expert for the introduction of new processes, and technologies into the site
  • Technical expert /Core team member for the transfer of new products from R&D into the site
  • Support Project Team -Technology Transfer, deciding the best reagent concept, preparing project plans and traceability requirements
  • Fulfil role of technical reviewer to projects
  • Support Risk processes as expert reviewer.
  • Review with internal groups, performance issues for products in the market and to develop programs for resolution
  • Environmental Health & Safety. To understand & pro-actively follow through on all relevant procedures & ensure compliance to all standards.
  • Support Project Teams in deciding the best reagent concept.
  • Review with internal groups, performance issues for products in the market and develop programs for resolution.
  • Support other teams where needed

Key Qualifications and experience:

  • Third level qualification or higher in a Science discipline
  • 10+ years' experience in the In Vitro Diagnostics/Medical Device Industry
  • A good understanding of cGMP, Six Sigma and ISO/FDA requirements is beneficial
  • Extensive experience in the industry
  • MSc or PhD in Chemistry/Biochemistry a plus
