Network Security Firewall Engineer - Technical Lead (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Juniper etc.); a highly experienced engineer from a network security background looking for the scope to develop your career as a part of a global organisation.

The Role

You will join a forward-thinking Global Technology Organisation, providing products, solutions, and managed services to a wide range of customers across the UK and Internationally.

You will use your network security experience to provide team leadership in the delivery of Firewall and Intrusion Detection/Prevention services (IDS/IPS) working with a a team of engineers across the organisation.

Working within an Integrated Security Operations Centre (SOC), you work during core hours, to provide leadership and maintain technical standards within the Network Security team to ensure delivery of 24/7/365 IT security services to a range of clients.

You will be responsible for managing escalations and ensuring the integrity of client IT infrastructures, and protecting corresponding information systems from internal and external infiltration, attack or compromise.

Additionally, as required you will be asked to provide, design, consulting or advisory services to major company projects and liaise with stakeholders, customers and executives to provide accurate reporting of security incidents and potential threats.

Skills and Experience

You will have 5+ years experience in IT Network Security/IP Networking, and a demonstrated proficiency with a range of firewalls, predominantly Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and Fortigate Firewalls.

You will have a Networking or Cyber security degree (or equivalent), and relevant industry experience, combined with a demonstrated interest in the field of Cyber Security

You will be experienced in a position of seniority or leadership, among a team of Network Security professionals, with excellent professional and interpersonal skills.

Salary and Benefits

The Salary is negotiable dependent on experience. The role requires core working hours, and some on call as necessary. There is no shift working required for this position, and On call allowances are provided as part of your package along with excellent company benefits and pension.

The company will provide flexible working hours or details of relocation packages on a case by case basis.

Previous experience working in a Security Operations or Network Security environment is essential. This role is perfect for a candidate who has demonstrated a keen interest in the security industry and has current insights into global cybersecurity threats and trends. This is a non-static position and there is exciting scope for development across divisions and into executive level position.

Desirable qualities include excellent interpersonal and professional skills, relevant industry experience and a service delivery mentality (including client engagement skills).
