Technical Author (Information Developer) - Cambridge - 6-month contract

Technical Author (Information Developer) required to join a technology company on a 6 month contract based in Cambridge.

You will be working as part of a team which is responsible for documenting the IP that constitutes the architecture of the organisation. This encompasses a broad spectrum of product areas from the smallest microcontrollers to high-performance computing cores.

Your key responsibilities

  • Your top priority in this role is to collaborate with domain experts on crafting structured technical content. You improve the comprehension and consistency of the documentation, and eliminate ambiguity without the loss of precision.
  • You keep the documentation in sync with corporate writing standards and guidelines.

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Experienced in getting information from subject matter experts in a computer-related field.
  • Basic knowledge of microprocessor or microcontroller technology.
  • Excellent English communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Post-graduate qualification in computer architecture or a related field (for example electronics or instrumentation).
  • Consistent track record in technical writing of documentation with a highly technical content.

It is an advantage if you have the following skills:

  • You are dedicated to a detail-orientated approach.
  • Your interpersonal skills make you a great teammate, and you love communicating, collaborating, and interacting with computer architects and other authors.
  • You have worked in a collaborative authoring environment, for example you produced content in mark-down using a GitHub repository. You are familiar with Microsoft Office.
