Role: Technical Architect - Government Sector
Duration: 4 Months (extensions likely)
Location: Telford

You will be a key part of a major transformation project. As the Technical Architect your background within development will allow you to guide the architecture of the project going forward. Part of your role will be leading and working with developers and product owners to continue with the development of ITSM tooling for the client.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture and design of new applications and changes to existing applications
  • Experience of scoping builds and planning functionality
  • Determine and promote the usage of industry standard application architecture and design patterns that align with the enterprise design principles
  • Take part in architecture governance and present the application strategy that best meets business requirements
  • Technical Assurance of the design and code delivered by 3rd Party vendors; ensure it conforms to solution design, security standards, industry best practices and non-functional requirements
  • Provide subject matter expertise, act as technical product advocate, design, develop and implement ITIL processes, ITSM, ITAM, SACM modules within the IT Service Management platform.
  • Implement technology specific best practices and standards.
  • Proposes data model, design changes to processes and products, exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of an assignment.
  • Leads functional and/or technical requirements gathering sessions with customers
  • Translates requirements into stories that can be developed by Platform Engineers
  • Designs and develops extensions to ITSM tooling data model in support of requirements towards ITAM, SACM and other modules.
  • Reviews and refines designs for usability, review testing scenarios and refines test cases, to ensure applications quality and works with users to review test results to ensure they meet expected results Support and coordinate scheduling and execution of releases, product upgrades, new technology deployments.
  • Evaluation of new features and produce comprehensive analysis and recommendations. Perform and participate in product roadmap planning.
  • Produces and maintains detailed system documentation including design specs, maintenance, troubleshooting, deployment, disaster recovery, technotes, and testing, etc.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience with designing secure and integrated solutions involving Microsoft and ITSM tooling technologies
  • Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
  • Experience in implementing industry standard application architecture and design patterns
  • Experience working with 3rd party software development partners
