Technical Operations Scientist/Engineer

Technical Operations Scientist/Engineer required to join a leading medical device manufacturing company in the Mid-West.

The successful candidate will be part of the Urine Analysis team based in Clare, Ireland, providing operational support to the Urine Strips Manufacturing Group. The Technical Operations Scientist will work as part of a cross functional team located between the Clare site and their German sister site.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will perform a critical role ensuring supply of safe, reliable and effective diagnostic products to our customer
  • Ensure compliance of the product to product design
  • Transfer knowledge of new or current product design elements from the German site into Clare manufacturing facility
  • Update and maintain technical documentation, and complete timely investigations to support manufacturing or validation activities.
  • Ensure alignment in manufacturing processes at both manufacturing sites.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Third level qualification or higher in a Science discipline.
  • 10+ years' experience in the In Vitro Diagnostics/Medical Device Industry.
  • A good understanding of cGMP, Six Sigma and ISO/FDA requirements is beneficial.
  • Scientific background in one or more of the following disciplines:
    • Biochemistry/Chemistry/Clinical Chemistry/Process Engineering
    • Good Manufacturing Process
    • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing processes.
  • Proven structured, troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to leverage critical thinking skills to solve complex challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
  • Excellent leadership abilities
  • Active listening skills
  • Objectivity when analyzing situations
  • Sense of urgency
  • Ability to lead and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to lead projects in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to identify and lead initiatives designed to improve efficiencies of processes/tools
  • Minimum Travel requirements (10 - 20%).
  • Basic German language would be beneficial to the role.
