The Job

As the Land Instrumentation Team Leader you will be responsible for the line management and professional development for a team of 8-10 Land Instrumentation engineers ranging from apprentices through to senior employees.

You will lead the development of the competency of your team in line with individual development needs and business requirements. The role will also include delivery of bids, projects, investments etc. as defined by the business.

The role will also be responsible for working as part of a wider team to identify improvements in productivity across the Group ensuring that colleagues are exposed to the best opportunities and that the Business is utilising their skills effectively.

You will also be involved with

Man management work - scheduling - resource planning - maintenance management - pulling together PO's - general management responsibilities.

Key Accountabilities

Capability: Responsible delivering data capture capability in their team in line with the requirements of the business as defined by the Head of Profession (Analysis Modelling & Simulation) and Group Lead.

Capacity: Supporting the delivery of data in line with the home range and beyond as defined by the Head of Profession (Analysis Modelling & Simulation).

Culture: Develop an effective environment that facilitates vibrant and collaborative working within their trials instrumentation teams in line with leadership behaviours and values.
Change: Responsible for ensuring a smooth transition to the new organisational model, leading members of their skill team through the change.

Technical Expertise: Working for the majority of time as an experienced data capture engineer predominantly within the range environment and improving business delivery through continual improvement activities.

Professional Development: Recognised as an experienced Land Instrumentation engineer internally with colleagues and in the external market. Demonstrable self-progression against professional system competencies.

The Fit

You must have an Electronics/general engineering background. HND/HNC in Electronics or Engineering is desirable.

Strong Understanding of the test and evaluation environment.

Demonstrable experience working in the Land Instrumentation environment with a technical leadership background

Experience of developing and line managing others and building effective teams

Experienced in providing advice, assurance and best practice into tasks that are undertaken.
