Talent Development Manager

£43-50k base plus Car / Car Allowance

Leicester - can be based elsewhere in the UK for suitable candidates

Experis are recruiting on behalf of our Client a leading Engineering Support Services organisation for an experienced Organisational Development specialist to join their team to drive forward their Talent Management framework.

The main responsibilities of this role are as follows -

  • Embed sector wide Technical Hub HR Strategy through an engaging approach to the development of current and future talent populations
  • Design, implement and manage robust employee development programmes including interpersonal, management and leadership skills, in accordance with business and HR strategy requirements, to achieve consistency of approach to talent development
  • Develop and deploy an approach to performance management and succession planning in support of effective career management within the sector
  • Identify and implement a management and leadership coaching and mentoring methodology to support employee, management and leadership development within the business ensuring consistency of approach across the sector
  • Interface with Business Leaders, Business Unit HR colleagues and Group HR functions to define apprentice and graduate development requirements for the business, complying with Apprenticeship Levy stipulations
  • Develop and deploy apprentice and graduate development supporting tools, guidelines and templates in order to ensure consistency of application across the sector, to comply with Group approach
  • Provide the lead interface across the sector for all development processes and methodologies, to retain standardisation of approach
  • Continuously improve the provision of HR collateral associated with apprentice and graduate development in order to ensure the Group is considered an employer of choice
  • Work with the Group to lead, monitor and continuously improve STEM activities throughout the sector, supporting STEM Ambassadors to drive raising awareness about the opportunities and benefits that can be gained

The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience -

  • Educated to degree level, or demonstrable equivalent experience in a similar talent development role
  • MCIPD or working towards
  • Proven experience in translating complex business requirements into tangible learning and development needs and outcomes for large and complex organisations
  • Demonstrable experience in managing talent frameworks within large and complex organisations and in demonstrating how this supports future success
  • Demonstrable track record in designing and managing employee development programmes including interpersonal, management and leadership skills - in accordance with business and HR strategy requirements for large and complex organisations
  • Up to date knowledge of learning and development and talent management techniques, methodologies and solutions
  • Extensive experience in developing relationships with universities, schools and other key stakeholders for ongoing positive interactions
  • Full UK Drivers Licence and flexibility for weekly UK wide travel where required
  • Proven track record in developing and deploying performance management, succession planning, coaching and mentoring methodologies within large and complex organisations - DESIRABLE
  • Clear evidence of delivering improved employer brand through apprentice and graduate development programmes - DESIRABLE
  • A knowledge of the Apprenticeship Levy - DESIRABLE
