We need a subject matter expert for this role who has extensive experience with 3rd party workforce management, including understanding different channels to 3rd party market and who has project managed similar programs in a global and complex organisation - we don't have that experience in the team at the moment hence the need to bring someone in that does.

Role Synopsis

The workforce of the future looks much different than it does today. Technology is everywhere, data and AI are changing the way we work, career cycles are shorter and there is a significant rise in the number of contingent workers in the marketplace. We know that highly skilled and hard-to-find talent is abundant in the on-demand workforce, but big enterprise process prevents us from maximizing access to that talent today.

The 3rd party workforce manager role sits in the Talent Acquisition & Matching team within the People and Culture entity. As it stands today, our 3rd party workforce is not considered in our strategic talent planning and is wholly managed by our Procurement team and business leaders. We want to change that!

This role will be responsible for beginning the journey of bringing 3rd party workforce firmly into scope for the talent strategy and ensuring that we are intentional and planful in the allocation of our 3rd party workforce.

We are looking for someone who brings a high level of global acumen, a savvy process mind, a strong focus on customer service, and a desire to create strong partnerships with stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create and lead a formative strategy on bringing the 3rd party workforce into the company's talent strategy and workforce ecosystem
  • Inspire a trusted and meaningful relationship with procurement function who currently own provision of 3rd party workers
  • Recommend on the best course of action for simplifying the understanding and categorization of 3rd party workforce
  • Suggest meaningful systems and governance interventions to enable robust and meaningful management of 3rd party workforce in future
  • Consider the customer's experience (both 'candidate' and line manager / budget owner) in relation to the vendor eco-system
  • Liaise with cross functional teams like legal, people & culture, strategy, finance to drive smooth functioning of the vendor ecosystem
  • Advise on the use (not creation) of strategic workforce planning tools in understanding 3rd party workforce requirements
  • Help in setting up a 'resource triage desk', directing budget holders into the correct channels and suppliers for 3rd party workers as appropriate
  • Advise on best use of freelance / gig employment channels (example Fulcrum)
  • Generally, help us figure out the best way around this problem statement - we need your help!

Essential Experience and Job Requirements:

  • Great project management skills and interpersonal skills - experience of global employment complexity and the drive to develop solutions that are compliant and scalable
  • Consulting or corporate experience which has focussed on contingent workforce projects/programs
  • Ability to articulate the 'future of the workforce' and what this means for talent acquisition strategy
  • Experience of staffing 'ecosystems' and different / contemporary channels to 3rd party market (gig economy, freelancers, contingent workers, partnerships with other organisations, leasing teams etc - to name a few)
  • Understanding of contracting and tax for different jurisdictions would be an advantage
  • An understanding of managing IR35 assessment and process
  • Awareness of different routes to access 3rd party talent
