My client, a world leading engineering organisation is currently looking to appoint a Systems Safety Manager.

Role purpose:

To manage the Systems Safety team and wider RAMS teams (Reliability, Availability, Safety, Maintainability) to ensure On time, On cost and On Quality (OTOCOQ) delivery of:

  • Appropriate System Assurance solutions.
  • Acceptable assurance cases, with appropriate supporting evidence, to the Authority in support of the review and assessment of the dependability cases by the wider assurance community.

May be required to address concurrent aspects for multiple contracts including export contracts and may have to address different operating platforms.


Responsible for the OTOCOQ delivery of the Safety, Security and Dependability. This includes high level management of the Safety team at subsystem level to ensure the Safety , Security and Dependability Argument is coherent at System level.

This includes:

  • Primary System point of contact for Safety, Security & dependability issues.
  • Responsible for co-ordination between the Project/systems team and safety programme through the management of safety tasks, commissioning of safety studies and flowing relevant information to the Safety Engineers.
  • Responsible for the management of the Safety programme, activities and artefacts/services to be supplied to the customer.
    • Management of the Project/Platform Safety Cases and management of hazard logs.
    • Ensuring expert safety support is provided to Project/Platform subsystems teams

Team Leadership:

Manage the team and work within area of responsibility, making use of support from functional management as appropriate:

  • Responsibility for driving, monitoring and reporting on project planning and delivery.
  • Workload & Resource Management.
  • Staff Management.
  • Attend Functional/Project management meetings, frequency as required.

Due to the nature of the work candidates will need to hold or be able to obtain UK SC level security clearance.
