Systems Manager (School based)Gateshead2+ MonthsJob Overview: The Systems Manager will manage and maintain the school systems ensuring they run smoothly and ensuring all software and licences are current and compliant. They will advise SLT and be a point of contact for the school's third party ICT provider. They will also manage and maintain the school's website ensuring it is legally and Ofsted compliant and up to date with school information and events. The Systems Manager will act as the school's Data Protection Officer and will be fully conversant with data protection and GDPR regulations.Due to the urgent nature of the role and working in the school environment, the client ideally requires that candidates hold current active Enhanced DBS clearance. If Candidates have also registered for the "update service" this will speed up the process even sooner.Duties: Website:Carrying out regular audits for compliancy with Ofsted and current legislationAdding or updating as appropriate and removing old content quickly.Ensuring the website is user friendly and promotes a positive image of the school.Systems:Managing, maintaining and advising on all school systems, for example, CPOMS, Impero, SIMSTraining staff and pupils in their use where appropriateActing on alerts which may arise from the inappropriate use of IT by staff or pupilsSupporting the third party IT provider to allow them to fulfil their role.Take a lead role in planning and development of school systemsSupporting the exams team to ensure effective set up and management of exams as well as ensuring results are downloaded when they become availableSupporting the technical team as appropriateIn-class support as needed subject to availabilityEnsuring the scanning and copying facilities remain operational and initial trouble-shooting.To provide reports as requested, for example, weekly flexi reportsTo manage and maintain the school's flexi and annual leave systems.Management and maintenance of school's social media, for example, Twitter and Facebook.To ensure all licences are up to date and that those which are not to be renewed have appropriate notice periods servedData Protection:To act as the school's DPOTo be fully conversant with GDPR and to ensure compliancy throughout the school.To ensure start of year duties are carried out, for example, biometric permissions on tills.Other:Ensuring health and safety guidelines for the use of IT and equipment are adhered to by staff and pupils, and reporting any non-compliancy.Technical support at school events or CPD.Carrying out administrative duties associated with the roleTo liaise with the Trust in support of any related tasksAny other duties not already outlined but considered appropriate by the Head Teacher and within the remit of the grade.Person Specification:Essential:-Ability to work under pressureMinimum 3 years' experience of working in a school or educational environment and in-depth experience of using school systemsLevel 3 qualification in systems management, computing or other relevant or equivalent qualificationKnowledge of SIMS or schools MIS systemOutstanding ICT skillsExcellent communication and people skillsExcellent attendance recordAbility to multi task and work to deadlinesKnowledge of data protection and GDPR regulationsAbility to work flexibly to provide event support as and when required Enhanced DBSDesirable:-Project management experienceKnowledge of CPOMS, Class Charts, biometric cashless cateringDegree in systems management, computing or other relevant or equivalent qualification If this role is of interest to you please submit your CV in the first instance.
