Systems Integration Analyst


3-6 months

Working flexibly within Systems Integration e.g. AGILE environment, you will play a key role as part of the core project team. This will involve working closely, and concurrently, with a variety of stakeholders including: Solutions architects, Programme or Project managers, Business analysts and Applications centres.

The Systems Integration function involves working with large programmes (across many delivery teams within App centres) and in projects where there is a degree of technical complexity e.g. integrating 3rd party apps.

Developing a 'big picture' view is critical at the outset of projects/programmes to give you an understanding of which systems and services will be impacted by change. You will work with the solutions architects to flesh out the details behind the high level architecture - this view will be fed into app centres (via work reception teams) for estimating, and build work.

You will be responsible for high level systems analysis and design, understanding the change across clients and 3rd party applications for the project, understanding the integration points and high level dependencies, ensuring that the detailed design keeps within the signed off architecture and that systems delivered effectively support the business function.

Through Feasibility to Delivery and Implementation, you will be key to 'knitting' the build work together, at a high level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Solutions Architects, Senior BA, BAs and Programme / Project Manager to help shape the overall scope of the programme / project.
  • Provide IT input, shaping and challenge to the Business Requirement gathering process. Influence the functional requirements / scope with Senior stakeholders and business analysis team.
  • Identify impacted systems and applications from high level project scope items / high level requirements
  • Communicate and provide consultancy on the High Level Design with the Application Centre teams (and external 3rd parties).
  • Ensure common understanding between business stakeholders and IT Delivery (and vice versa) at all stages of the E2E project lifecycle to ensure project delivery meets business needs.
  • Support the application centre teams to produce AIAs and detailed designs in line with the High level design and solutions architecture (including review and sign off).
  • Provide support for testing phases - SYST, SIT (inc NFT) & UAT. support defect resolution, review test documentation (MTP to test scripts)
  • Provide IT impact analysis and design where required for project Change Requests
  • Maintain the high level view (oversight) across E2E project Lifecycle of the 'big picture' IT solution and business impacts. Balance this with a sufficient understanding of the detail to understand the implications of any change.
  • Have a good, broad understanding of the clients products and systems and maintain a good network of colleagues.
  • Demonstrate good awareness and understanding of change process, governance, producing mandatory docs, delivery assurance processes.
  • Provide support and guidance for less experienced analysts in order to ensure quality of deliverables and their development in the role

Key Technical Criteria Required


  • Systems analysis and design - mainframe and/or off mainframe. Significant previous experience in IT Development or Business IT Projects
