Systems Engineer / Crypto-management Specialist

Christchurch - with potential remote work

3-year contract

Rates: £425 - 475

My Client, a multinational defence technology company is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer, with experience of Cryptographic Systems, to join the team in Christchurch for a 3-year project.

This person will be working as a member of pan-industry team, developing Mission System for Future Combat Air Systems.

Knowledge of military cryptography applications and crypto management, including:

  • Knowledge of the current NCSC Recommended Best Practice for Separation of Security Domains
  • Knowledge of the current NCSC policy for Crypto and Cryptographic material distribution and handling
  • Preferable with experience of several implementations of Cryptography Systems
  • A demonstrable record of success delivered by the application of technical skills.
  • Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and presentational);
  • An excellent grasp of the English language including a proven ability to write clear and concise technical specifications.
  • A strong analytical and logical mind in order to present technical issues in a methodical and understandable manner.
  • The ability to work as part of a team to draw rational conclusions and processes from multiple sources of technical data.
  • Demonstrates a culture of continuous improvement and ownership
  • Holds a current UK car driving licence
  • Awareness of combat air system components such as radar, navigation, command and control with detailed understanding of some systems.
  • Experience of Model Based Systems Engineering, although training will be provided
  • Degree level (or equivalent) expertise encompassing systems engineering in the Aerospace and Security environment.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates would need to hold an active SC clearance or be willing/eligible to undergo the process.
