We are pleased to be exclusively partnering with our client a leading International Insurance provider to recruit within their UK finance reporting team. Great opportunity for an ambitious hands on qualified finance professional. To provide a range of comprehensive accounting services for the Syndicate that complies with both Group and Local accounting and reporting standards and policies.

The Position

  • Undertake all aspects of syndicate accounting, ensuring that all profit and loss and balance sheet information are accurate and provided in a timely fashion.

  • Ensure that all Syndicate accounting transactions are processed in an accurate and timely fashion, including intercompany balances.

  • Review of Syndicate accounting journals/bookkeeping postings.

  • Compile quarterly audit file with evidence of trial balance reconciliations and controls

  • Maintain supporting documentation for syndicate accounting processes

  • Full responsibility for the Syndicate earned results, translating underwriting year figures to those suitable for financial reporting under Group/Local accounting standards.

  • Responsibility for corporation tax and compliance monitoring

  • Contribute to ongoing projects to develop accounting and processing systems and methods

The Person

  • Successful candidate will ideally be qualified Accountant and hold a professional qualification (ACCA,CIMA,ACA)

  • Also consider candidate qualified by experience and or currently study towards full qualification.

  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge/expertise of syndicate accounting up to trial balances

  • A good understanding of corporate tax and compliance monitoring required

  • Sound understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP essential

  • Strong background in financial services (Insurance) Preferred

  • You will be a self-starter who can work collaboratively within a fast paced team environment

  • Good working knowledge of IT software MS Office Excel, Word, Powerpoint & Project along with financial software systems.
