In recognition of the key role the procurement function plays in the growth of this organisation, one of the world's leading defence, aerospace, technology and security companies are continuing to grow the function, and as such, are recruiting for a Supply Chain Specialist

The role will form part of their procurement team, executing effective procurement strategies to support the profitable delivery of key defence projects, and the bidding process for further contracts

About your new role

The role is accountable for the execution of the subcontracting plan, incorporating preparation of the procurement strategy and documents, sourcing, data collection and analysis and, managing communication with suppliers and internal customers.

Managing prime contractor interfaces, risk mitigation (i.e. flow-up/down arrangements within prime contract) and flexibility within supply chain, including, supplier sourcing and selection through the make or buy process and appropriate leverage to deliver improvement, quality, performance, innovation and cost reduction.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Embedded within a newly formed, Procurement Frameworks & Subcontract Management Delivery Team, to provide end to end Supply Chain advice, sourcing, supply assurance, delivery, supply chain management and tasking against requirements.
  • In-contract supplier management
  • Efficient & effective day to day management of supply chain in support of Customer bidding and existing programmes
  • Providing strategic/functional development and execution of business strategies
  • Stakeholder management (internal and external).
  • Management planning of current and future workload.
  • Harnessing innovative solutions from existing and future supply chain partners.

About you

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within Defence or Engineering environments
  • Proven contract negotiation skills
  • Experience in a customer-facing role is desirable
  • Degree in a Business or Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • CIPS Qualified desirable, or working towards
