Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Developing supply chain solutions in support of DST's business development activities.
  • Identifying and agreeing the division of value and risk with partners and third parties.
  • Translating prime contract, project and business requirements into effective supply chain provision
  • Managing effective performance throughout the supply chain. Employing strategies to vary inputs / outputs to maximise supply chain performance..
  • Managing supply-related risks to identify and implement mitigating actions.
  • Planning and implementing negotiation strategies, utilising leverage, identifying the risks, and developing options to close agreements successfully

Qualification/ Skills & Attributes:

  • 7+ years' experience in a procurement environment.
  • Good understanding of corporate governance and business ethics.
  • In-depth knowledge of tendering processes, value propositions and supplier selection.
  • Experience of managing local and international contracts throughout the life of a project.
  • Excellent influencing skills, relationship-building, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of defence or engineering sectors.
  • Capable of and comfortable with, instigating positive challenge to traditional ways of working.
  • Ability to use a wide range of influencing styles in order to execute negotiation with third parties.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Degree (or equivalent) qualification; Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. CIPS, with professional qualification at level 5 or above (or equivalent).
