Supply Chain Manager Walsall £60,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits Here at Babcock International, we are looking to recruit a Supply Chain Manager for a new permanent opportunity working within our Vehicle Engineering Division, based in Walsall. The role is a fantastic opportunity for a hands on, high calibre individual to join a team at the start of a transformational activity to deliver best practice.The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the whole procurement process from supplier selection and approval to ordering/expediting and control of goods to final issuing to line. The Supply Chain Manager will manage a portfolio of suppliers providing goods and services and will be responsible for executing the Babcock Vehicle Engineering's procurement and supply Chain strategy.The Supply Chain Manager will support the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain to design, develop and implement strategies that meet the needs of the business; the Supply Chain Manager will work as part of an integrated project team ensuring that the individual contract operational needs are understood and delivered on time and to budget. The role will cover platform acquisition and MRO spares management, ensuring that necessary contract/framework agreements are in place with suppliers. The role will also be responsible for identifying and delivering value in line with business unit and sector objectives. Key Objectives / Accountability:Accurate stock control and availability metricsCreate necessary process and Procurement Plans to support contract requirementsEstablish Contract / Framework agreements with suppliersThe delivery of sufficient levels of quality goods and services to sustain operational output within project budget.Develop strategic Relationship plans for key suppliers that capture the business requirements and work with the suppliers strengthsThe maintenance of supply performance; undertaking regular supplier reviewsMaintain the approved vendor list; a robust new supplier on boarding process to be implemented with annual due diligenceSupport Business growth agendaTo effectively manage and set objectives with allocated staff What do I need to do the role?Educational Qualifications:Ideally Degree educated in a Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or Engineering degree.Professional Qualifications:MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification desirable.Specific Functional Skills and Experience:Essential - Capacity to drive change whilst continuing to deliver business, team and personal objectiveEssential - Proven track record of identifying and delivering year-on-year Procurement savings against targets, across a portfolio of Procurement initiativeEssential - Experience of managing strategic sourcing projects from conception through to completionEssential - Experience of developing and obtaining buy-in for Procurement strategies with key stakeholdersEssential - Strategic thinker with the ability to establish and communicate vision and strategic directionEssential - Delivery focused with a pragmatic hands on approach that meets operational needs and enables strategies to be fully executedDesirable - Experience in a Strategic Sourcing or Category/Procurement Management roleDesirable - Comprehensive experience of drafting complex Tender documentation Babcock offers a supportive environment including: enhanced employment terms and conditions, money purchase pension scheme with life assurance, share ownership scheme, Occupational Health services, flexible working hours (only non-industrials), career opportunities and specialist advice and guidance from our Learning & Development teams.
