Supply Chain ManagerUp to £55,000 + BenefitsWalsall We are looking to recruit a Supply Chain Manager for a new role working for the UKs Leading Engineering and Support Services Provider, based from their regional headquarters in Walsall.The role is working as part of the organisations vehicle engineering division who's customers include the police, fire and ambulance services, civil service, military and other security focused organisations based in the UK and overseas. Their services include customised builds, composite material production, specialist in-vehicle communications capability, armoured protection, disposal & decommissioning and training. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the whole procurement process from supplier selection and approval to ordering/expediting and control of goods to final issuing to line. The Supply Chain Manager will manage a portfolio of suppliers providing goods and services and will be responsible for executing the Vehicle Engineering division's procurement and supply Chain strategy.The role will cover platform acquisition and MRO spares management, ensuring that necessary contract/framework agreements are in place with suppliers. The role will also be responsible for identifying and delivering value in line with business unit and sector objectives.Educational Qualifications Ideally Degree educated in a Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering degree or equivalent working experienceSpecific Functional Skills and Experience Essential - Proven track record of identifying and delivering year-on-year Procurement savings against targets, across a portfolio of Procurement initiativesDesirable - Excellent knowledge (i.e. understanding of the supply market, the value chain and key cost drivers) of the Fleet category (including vehicle acquisition, maintenance, short-term hire and whole life costing)Essential - Experience of managing strategic sourcing projects from conception through to completionEssential - Experience of developing and obtaining buy-in for Procurement strategies with key stakeholdersEssential - Strategic thinker with the ability to establish and communicate vision and strategic direction.Essential - Delivery focused with a pragmatic hands on approach that meets operational needs and enables strategies to be fully executedEssential - Willingness to travelDesirable - Experience of Crown Commercial Services' procurement arrangementsDesirable - Experience of working in an 'emergency services' Procurement environmentDesirable - Experience in a Strategic Sourcing or Category/Procurement Management role.
