We are looking to recruit a Supply Chain Liaison Specialist to work on a new permanent role for a FTSE100 Engineering and Support Services Business, to be based in Portsmouth.

The organisation is the UKs leading provider of support services to the MoD and the Armed Forces and has been awarded a contract to become the Marine Systems Support Partner (MSSP) for the Royal Navy's new Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) Aircraft Carriers and Type 45 Destroyers.

As the Supply Chain Liaison Specialist supporting the MSSP contract, you will be the first point of contact for urgent customer complaints. You will be responsible for solving customer queries by working through the issue and resolving it either internally or within the supply chain. You will also be involved in identifying trends and driving quality improvements within the supply chain and feeding back issues and the resolutions to the Supplier Quality Assurance team in Bristol.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working with suppliers to expedite critical deliveries
  • Working with the customer and suppliers to resolve quality issues, involving technical specialists from other functions as required
  • Conduct product inspection and review quality documentation
  • Raise non-conformity paperwork where issues are identified.
  • Sharing supplier/customer intelligence with other members of the supply chain team
  • Work with the wider team to address root causes of non-conformance

Required Experience /Qualification /Attributes:

  • The candidate will need to have experience working in a quality or engineering environment
  • Be customer focused with excellent relationship building skills
  • Desirable - Familiar with the aims and requirements of ISO 9001 :2008 /IS09001 :2015 or equivalent
  • Able to communicate effectively and have an aptitude for learning new techniques, methods and principles
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Capable of prioritising and multi-tasking, and working to agreed schedules and budgets
  • Self-motivated, and can work within a group or individually
  • Have a flexible approach to the workload and the ability to work to tight timescales
  • Some UK based travel may be required
