This role will oversee a team of 4 Supply Chain Managers, responsible for driving the cost effective and timely delivery of procurement sourcing projects.You will play a senior role in the Bids and Programmes procurement team, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, and executing effective procurement strategies that lead to winning of profitable and efficient new business.This role represents an opportunity to influence organisational growth, through work on external customer bids, providing procurement and supply chain expertise and strategy, from conception through to delivery. You will ensure that the team will be capable of ensuring best practice sourcing processes, decision-making, contract drafting and excellent supplier management.Day-to-day you can expect to be negotiating favourable terms with key suppliers, including volume discounts and long-term contracts. You will also utilise your understanding of technology trends, market forces and cost trends to ensure the business is making efficient use of the wider supply chain.Key accountabilities include:Develop strong relationships with leaders and key decision-makersMaintain awareness of the restrictions, controls and accreditations that are placed upon suppliers working in a Defence environmentCollaborate with the Category Procurement Team to identify opportunities to utilise extant supplier relationships and frameworks that leverage Group scaleEnsure compliance with process, governance and controls as agreed in the Procurement Code of Practice and Sourcing methodology.Collaboratively develop plans with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of targets, improve supplier performance, and implement continuous improvement plans across spend.Collaborate with adjacent Leads to develop and enhance systems, process, and best practice sharingDevelop direct reports through the provision of direct and actionable feedback, and creation of meaningful development plans.
