Job Description
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for providing assurance that suppliers intended to be used are operating safely and compliantly in a given domain, assuring a suppliers ability to deliver a fit-for-purpose on-time output, and identifying any actions required to be made to improve supplier performance
Key Accountabilities
- Provide assurance of the overall supply chain, identifying key risk areas and proactively recommending action and approaches to manage this risk
- Conduct process and product audits of key suppliers to assure safety and compliance regimes are effective and maintained
- Identify actions through audit to ensure that the safety and compliance risks to the business and the supply chain are understood and managed
- Identify and share areas of good practice and contribute to the improvement of the supplier management process
- Assist and advise in the development and production of supplier management plans and relevant project documentation
- Support business and engineering managers in managing suppliers and maintaining regulatory compliance
- Act as the voice of quality assurance within cross-functional supply chain working groups
- Prepare for, lead and co-ordinate the response to audits
Key Capabilities/Knowledge
- Track Record of success in Quality Assurance and Supply Chain Assurance
- Understanding of how regulation and contractual standards flow down to suppliers
- Demonstrably experienced auditor
- Knowledge of customer specific quality management system requirements
- Excellent relationship building skills and demonstrable ability to work with third parties
- Strong team working ethic
Experience & Qualifications
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- Experience of using Standard industry improvement tools and techniques
- Effective and influential communicator
