An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Submarine Combat Systems Manager, to join a FTSE 100 engineering support services organisation in Keynsham, near Bristol. This is for a suitably qualified and experienced engineering manager, responsible for delivering a number of key outputs required to support Submarine Combat System operations.

Key elements of the post are:

  • To lead management of the Submarine Combat System (CS) input into individual submarine work packages, including design changes
  • To manage and annually review/update contracted MSDF Annual Plan tasking from MoD Submarine Combat Systems Group (CSG)
  • Technical responsibility for CS elements of individual work packages (to match the designated resource profile) enabling Waterfront teams enactment
  • Responsible for the enactment of a manageable and coherent End-2-End Package Management strategy for designated Combat System work scope/design changes balancing platform availability and risk
  • To execute a systems engineering approach to the end-to-end delivery of combat system change
  • To maintain a unified and coherent approach to combat systems engineering support
  • To develop effective working relationships with other UK combat system industry players within the Combat Systems Enterprise

The successful candidate would be responsible for the development and sustainment of the necessary combat systems engineering capability.

Successful candidate requirements:

  • HND/HNC qualified in a relevant engineering discipline with relevant experience, or OND/ONC qualified with significant relevant engineering experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Hold a minimum professional qualification of IEng preferably CEng or has demonstrable plan to obtain CEng.
  • A Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP) in Submarine Combat Systems programme, policies, procedures, technologies, equipment, support, and operations
  • Recent experience of working with MoD authorities
