Stress Engineer

£30-40k base plus package


Experis are recruiting on behalf of our Client a leading Engineering Support Services organisation for Engineers to join their Stress Analysis function in Bristol.

Looking for Stress Engineers or Engineers from other disciplines who are interested in Stress Engineering and have an awareness already of stress calculations to support delivery of conceptual and detailed design projects.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows -

  • Undertake engineering conceptual and detailed calculations in the delivery of customer funded tasks and projects
  • Ensure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities
  • Produce calculations, analyses and technical reports
  • Ensuring a fit for purpose approach is adopted in the production of all outputs
  • Ensure adequate Verifying and Approval is undertaken on all their deliverables

The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience -

  • Engineering of Science Degree qualified
  • CEng or working towards gaining Chartered Engineer status
  • Demonstrable experience in stress analysis covering a variety of tasks
  • Demonstrable experience in the application of codes and standards covering a range of equipment types
  • Familiarity in assessment of structural / mechanical equipment against UK and/or European design codes - ideally familiar with BS2573
  • Competent in a range of classical stress analysis techniques for assessing mechanical and structural equipment
  • Ability to identify load paths and recommend design changes to ensure fit for purpose design before detailed analysis
  • Must have strong communication skills and ability to interface with other disciplines
  • Drive and determination to professionally grow
  • Must be able to gain and maintain UK SC level security clearance
