Stress Engineer (Structures / Propulsion)

Stress Engineer required for fast growing Bristol based Aerospace Company offering interesting and varied work with and the chance to work on exciting and innovative new projects!

As Stress Engineer you will be tasked with the development of the structure of a new aircraft, analyse all major components from a Stress and Fatigue and Damage Tolerant perspective for both metallic and composite structure.

The ideal Stress Engineer candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent, have strong fundamental knowledge of aircraft structures, possess hands on experience developing and building aircraft structure to aviation standards and have a detailed understanding of the analysis required. The successful candidate must be used to aviation standards and hold the appropriate signatory.

The Role:

* Stress Engineer

* Development of structural proposals and definitions to aerospace standards

* Analysis and specification of component requirements ready for supplier negotiations

* Meeting the Means of Compliance standards required by the authorities

* Assisting in the management of suppliers delivering components or systems to the project

* Generating alternate proposals when required

* Assist with the build and fault-finding of the project

The Person:

* Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

* Strong fundamental knowledge of Aircraft Structures

* Hands on experience of developing and building aircraft structure to aviation standards

* Detailed understanding of the analysis required

* Experience and proficiency of at least one modern FEM package (ANSYS preferred)
