Strategy Development Principal (Corporate Strategy) - Assistant Head of Corporate Strategy, Corporate Strategy
Central London - 5 month fixed-term
Salary - £72,420 plus benefits (Pension, Private Health Care, Life Assurance, and more)

Are you interested in developing corporate strategies? Do you have experience with engaging and developing strong working relationships with C-level stakeholders within the Financial Services space?

If so, we are looking to recruit an experienced Strategy Development Principal for a personal finance, consumer focused, not for profit organisation. Based in the company office in London, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Corporate Strategy & Innovation in strategy development by strategic problem-solving on an ad hoc basis, which may involve evidence gathering, creative innovation, commissioning of expert insight and studies, gaining stakeholder agreement; whilst also Maximise the impact of our clients work in financial capability by active capturing of evidence, fresh thinking and best practice in the financial services sector.

To be able to make an effective contribution our client will require someone to demonstrate the following qualification, skills and experience:

  • An excellent influencer.
  • Good networks in financial services.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous situations constructively and creatively, including sensing when it is may be appropriate to take decisions nobody else will take and fill in gaps, and who to check those decisions with.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Some flexibility to travel around the UK or to conferences abroad (subject to partner locations).
  • Proven, harmonious and outstanding skills in driving collaboration and drawing out the expertise of others.
  • Public speaking skills and the gravitas to meet and persuade senior stakeholders.
  • An excellent written style with punctilious attention to grammar, spelling and tone - ideally being able to demonstrate this with tangible evidence of recent work.
  • Excellent powerpoint skills.
  • Highly numerate and confident and quick in managing budgetary figures.
  • Calm under pressure, and able to think on feet.
  • A track record of thinking strategically.
  • A track record of seeding and nurturing innovation.
  • Experienced in gathering, handling and explaining evidence bearing on complex social problems.
