This global organisation in the engineering services sector are looking to hire a Strategic Procurement Manager to provide functional support to major bids and mobilisations across the Aviation division of their business.

You will form part of an agile, flexible pool of strategic Procurement specialists deployed in the business to provide functional support to major bids and mobilisations across the Aviation sector.

This strategic role will be at the forefront of driving the business forward through supply chain strategy and effective procurement initiatives.

About your new role:

You will work with the Bid teams on major opportunities, develop the Supply Chain strategy and select the best supply solutions in terms of capability, risk profile and total cost of ownership to optimise outcomes for the business.

You will also work on Mobilisations, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of the total supply solution, implementing the supply contracts and ensuring supplier performance.

Main duties will include:

  • Support an 'Opportunity Analysis' of the Sector's bid pipeline, identifying bids with a material supply chain element and opportunities for leveraging common requirements across bids.
  • Work as an integral part of bid teams and with the Head of Procurement - Major Bids and Mobilisations, to support the development of customer proposals and participate in customer dialogue as appropriate.
  • Identify the most appropriate supply solutions required to support new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute Procurement project Plans aligned to overall Bid Plans as well as wider Sector and Line of Business bid strategies
  • Monitor performance and provide high quality reports on progress, key milestones, and risks.
  • Provide high-quality procurement and supply chain materials, for inclusion in bids.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify supply chain capability gaps and potential innovations.
  • Undertake supply market research into innovative supply solution / technology road maps as required.
  • Manage contract mobilisations, implementing and managing negotiated agreements as well as post-contract award variations and risks as appropriate.
  • Manage supplier relationships throughout the bid process as appropriate.
  • Work closely with the wider procurement teams across Sector and Group to ensure that existing supply chain trading relationships, capabilities and best practices are leveraged
  • Manage key Stakeholders, including Project Leads, Functional Leads and Line of Business Leads in bids and contract transitions as required.

About you:

  • Strong experience in a Strategic Sourcing or Category Management role.
  • Proven track record in the delivery of innovative supply chain solutions for a range of procurement projects
  • Proven track record of commercial negotiation
  • Experience of both public and private sector procurement
  • Relevant Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or Engineering degree.
  • MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification
