OVERVIEW:The post holder develops and maintains strategic partnerships with commercial, academic, healthcare and government organisations. These partnerships aim to enhance the scientific, technological and clinical mission of the company. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Works with the senior members of the commercial team to shape strategic partnerships in line with the company's mission.Works across the company squads to develop and execute the commercial strategy for the company.Evaluates and develops potential partnerships with existing industry partners and potential partners from across the spectrum of the life sciences industry; translates the benefit of the company to life sciences sector.Develops scientific projects with commercial partners to drive the use of the company dataset to maximise generation of insights and improved patient outcomes.Develops and coordinates internal resources to meet commercial agreements and feeds industry requirements into company's activities.Reports on commercial partnership performance in line with agreed metrics and producing management reports.Attends national and international meetings to showcase commercial projects and network with life industry sector partners.Renewal of existing industry partners' membershipsWinning new partnershipsTransition of memberships from Tier 1 to Tier 2Design and approval of strategic partnershipsDelivery of new industry projects in line with the strategy (e.g. cancer)Revenue stream generationCo-creation activities leading to improved platform or dataset for GELPublic announcements of GEL-led partnerships SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Knowledge sources - MS Teams, MS Office suite, SharePoint, CRM, MiroFrequent communication with external stakeholdersAbility to organise high level meetings, workshops, design briefs and capture notesCascade information from external engagement internallyLeverage correct decision making mechanisms to approve new partnerships initiativesProduce high level, succinct reports and commercial documentation for senior audiencesMission drivenAdvocate for Genomically-enabled precision healthChampion of the commercial agenda to benefit patient outcomes and the UK healthcare systemApproachable and open to changePragmatic in finding solutions that satisfy disparate interest groups (eg commercial vs clinical vs patient vs legal)Extensive experience in dealing with large pharma, and biotechUnderstanding of genomic data applicationsUnderstanding of clinical data, its sources and its limitationsUnderstanding the regulatory landscapeExcellent verbal and written communicatorPro-active collaboratorDiplomatic and sensitiveActively progresses self-learning and developmentLife sciences degree (Bachelor or higher)Experience in pharmaceutical sectorDue to the high volume of applications we receive we are not able to get back to everyone who applies.
