Solutions Architect

Experis IT are currently recruiting for a Solution Architect to join one of our key Banking clients based in Solihull.

The Solutions Architect works with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, Project Managers, delivery teams and operations teams to ratify and translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose and use IT solutions that align with the business and IT strategy, principles, standards, policies, architecture roadmaps and industry best practice.

This position is to assist in defining the architectural direction for our Banking Technology Platform and connection to our data infrastructure.

Key Duties

  • Design the underlying data structure and data flows to support the build
  • Turning business requirements into technical solutions
  • Create, participate and contribute in design sessions - expectation to suggest design alternatives
  • Gather and articulate non-functional requirements
  • Review business, function and technical requirements
  • Create key architecture documentation and deliverables
  • Lead a team of other architects as this function grows
  • Update the management team on overall project, risks, technology issues and propose suitable alternatives
  • Ensure that at key project milestones that the solution design is being met by the build team and is still fit for purpose
  • Integration and end to end system testing including documentation
  • Working with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally including analysts, vendors, change and infrastructure staff
  • Tracking new technology developments in areas of interest to the Bank, ensuring it maintains a technological edge within the industry, analysing and improving upon technology standards and maintaining awareness of new technologies
  • Manage technology relationships with key strategic partners ensuring technology roadmaps are aligned to business growth opportunities
  • R&D / Proof of Concept / prototyping where appropriate

Key Skills

  • A degree in computer Science, software engineering (or equivalent) qualifications
  • Strong technology leadership skills
  • An understanding of how key solution components (applications, cloud, COTS, APIs, hosting and identity management) are designed based on real-world experience
  • Able to evaluate technology trends which support the business vision and customer strategy
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a culture of continuous delivery and improvement - can show evidence of creating a culture of innovation for delivery teams
  • Knowledge and active use of industry frameworks such as TOGAF
  • Exposure to Salesforce financial and community clouds. (Including relevant certifications) would be beneficial.
