Our client manages some 400 applications, 20 networks, 11 domains and around 500 firewalls; they design and advise on solutions which operate from around 100 additional networks operating in a dozen countries and at the highest government security classifications.

Solution Architects play an important role ensuring that the solutions they produce align with road-maps established by the Enterprise Architecture (EA) practice, and complies with EA Standards, Principals & Policies.

Focused on converting business requirements into designs that ultimately deliver to the functional and non-functional requirements, the SA will rely on design patterns from previous experiences, published reference architectures and on guidance. The SA is accountable for balancing architectural concerns of the projects with the concerns of the Enterprise.

The Solution Architect is the development or design authority for each project. The SA will provide motivation & guidance to the entire project & implementation teams during the systems design, implementation & early life support lifecycle. Each SA must ensure buy-in from the support and implementation teams, so that the teams are motivated to match the implementation to the detailed design of the solution.

Defining and articulating complex solutions for large scale / high impact projects, including business, application, data and infrastructure impacts along with testing and implementation considerations through defined design & approval process.

Developing pragmatic, commercially feasible architectures, considering all functional as well as non-functional requirements (e.g. performance, capacity, accessibility, security, usability)

Work in association with the Lead Solution Architect to ensure that quotes for design timescales / technical costs are increasingly accurate as progress is made through the design cycle.

Leading a multi-disciplinary team of application, data and infrastructure professionals to implement the architecture, including those distributed across geographical boundaries

Troubleshoot complex and intermittent problems to tight time frames whilst under pressure

Provide strategic consultation to the client and its subsidiaries projects and service development initiatives in defining or designing business processes and functions, as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies based on customer requirements

The ideal candidate will hold current and valid SC Clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo the checks.
