Solution Architect (Airline Experience Required)

Solution Architect wanted with a background of working within the Airline industry. Our client is looking for a contractor who has a prior knowledge of the NDC programme, which has recently been launched. NDC (New Distribution Capability) is a travel industry-supported program (NDC Program) launched for the development and market adoption of a new, XML-based data transmission standard (NDC Standard)

Key Skills:

  • Must have specific airline domain expertise - as an example experience and specialism with typical airline systems - PSS, DCS, Reservation, Inventory, Ticketing, Revenue Management, Cargo, Flight Planning, Back Office SAP
  • Must be able to work in advisory client side role, influencing and facilitating the pace of the engagement/project
  • Highly personable as interaction required across IAG, suppliers and product vendors
  • Management of architectural and technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience with cloud platforms required
  • Translation of business objectives into clear and definable technology requirements
  • Analyse problems and structure solutions for complex technology implementations
  • Stakeholder management including presenting high-level solution options to the business and being able to articulate the benefit profile
  • Ability to both create and assure architecture artifacts including capturing requirements statements, advise on use case creation, high level solution design



Job Description:

  • Responsible for high level designs and architecture to describe the current state architecture describing business functions, applications, interfaces, platforms, technologies and data
  • Develop, validate and present the high level architecture overviews for the assigned domain
  • Support the update and evolution of Group IT 'master application catalogue'
  • Contribution to IT strategy, architecture management, governance, technology evaluations and will be instrumental in the technology decision making process
  • Contribution to technology evaluations and will be involved in the technology decision making process
  • Responsible for high level solution designs and architecture impact analysis/future state definition
  • Oversee complex technical lifecycles from inception, requirements analysis, design, and implementation phases
