Software Engineer (Python 5+ Years) - Permanent

Our client who is a well established Medical Research company is looking for a Software Engineer to join their team.

Software Engineer's responsibilities include participating in all phases of the software development life-cycle - building highly responsive products that align with their business needs.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Responsible for producing clean, efficient code based on specifications
  • Develop high-quality software design and architecture
  • Identify, prioritise and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
  • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
  • Review and debug code
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
  • Document development phases and monitor systems

Essential Skills;

  • Work experience as a Software Engineer
  • Ability and previous experience mentoring and coaching team members
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g.Hibernate)
  • Experience of working with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
  • Experience using system monitoring tools and automated testing frameworks
  • Proficiency in collaborative development tools such as Github, Confluence and JIRA
  • Ability to learn new languages and technologies
  • Strong communication skills and able to work collaboratively, where required as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Python tools and frameworks, including Flask and Django
